Paving the way for safer neighbourhoods - 23 August 2006

Extensive work to paved areas at Angram Bank Community Centre in High Green was done for free thanks to Sheffield Homes and two of its contractors, Kier and Keepmoat, and to local young people after the local Tenants and Residents Association put out a call for assistance.
 

Getting tough on harassment and racism - 22 August 2006 

Victims of harassment or racism can expect support and tough action from Sheffield Homes, according to the company’s latest customer charter.  The booklet spells out what steps officers will take to ensure their tenants live in a safe and secure environment.
 

Sheffield Homes hits the big screen - 21st August 2006

Customers from Sheffield Homes are hitting the big screen in an effort to encourage more people to get involved with the local housing service.  They have taken part in a short film that illustrates how everyone can make a difference to their home and community by getting involved and having their say.

Gardening contest makes Gleadless bloom - 7th August 2006

Green-fingered residents in Gleadless have dug deep to try and win a local gardening contest.  Over 30 budding horticulturists entered the new competition organised by Sheffield Homes and Gleadless Valley Tenants and Residents Association (TARA).
 

Wybourn's Inspirational Gardener - 28th July 2006

A triumphant, 79 year-old cancer sufferer is putting her weight behind the drive for a Sheffield community to have the best kept gardens in Sheffield.  Green-fingered Hyde Park resident Kitty Flaherty has just won first prize for her estate in the annual competition organised by Sheffield Homes in partnership with Tenant and Residents Associations (TARAs) in the Manor/Castle, Woodthorpe and Richmond areas.
 

Creative Youngsters Wax Lyrical About Building Site Dangers - 21st July 2006

To try and keep local children safe whilst home improvement work takes place, Sheffield Homes and its partnering contractors have taken their message about the dangers of building sites into schools with fun presentations and competitions. This year children wrote an acrostic poem about anything to do with safety around building sites, using the letters of their name to provide the first letter of each sentence.

The health and security of thousands of council tenants will be dramatically improved by Sheffield’s huge Decent Homes programme according to a major new academic study published today (Thursday July 20).

Sheffield Homes has launched a single contact telephone number for customers accessing housing services on the north side of the city.  The new ‘golden number’ – which is 293 0000 - will make it easier for tenants to contact us and get a prompt, helpful response.
 

Pensioners cue up for sheltered success - 3rd July 2006

The residents from Heeley’s Sheffield Homes-managed Cambridge Court sheltered accommodation scheme have spent the past few months working hard to raise funds for their own snooker table and now, with help from Sheffield Homes and Kier, are the proud owners of one of the best 12 foot snooker tables in Sheffield complete with state-of-the-art lighting.
