Can I Become a Non Executive Director?

The Board of Directors is made up from three constituencies:

Sheffield City Council Tenants (7)
Independents (5)
Council Appointees (3)

Each year there are two or three vacancies for Tenant Directors and one or two for Independent Directors. These occur shortly before the Annual General Meeting, at which a certain number of Directors have to retire. Adverts for the vacancies are placed in the local press, on the website and in local area offices.

Additionally, there may at any time be a casual vacancy if a Director chooses to retire before the end of their term on the Board.

Any such vacancy is filled providing that it occurs at least six months before the date on which Directors are due to retire.

If you are interested in any current or forthcoming vacancies on a Area Board, please contact the Sheffield Homes Governance Team for further details by email at enquiries@sheffieldhomes.org.uk

Council appointees are appointed annually by Sheffield City Council.
