Birthday century finally bowls out Christmas
Christmas Day in 1905 might have been a day of joy for her parents but daughter Elsie has been suffering ever since!
Why? Because being born on December 25 meant her birthday was always lost amongst the yuletide festivities. But not this time.
Sheffield Homes were determined to celebrate Elsie Warburton's 100th birthday which falls this Sunday, Christmas Day, and Natalie Colville the local housing officer, who realised the significance initially, presented her with an enormous hamper packed with goodies. Mrs Elsie Warburton lives in a Graves Trust House in the Gleadless area of the city.
Sheffield Homes Area Housing Manager Martyn Games said: "We're pleased to be able to help Elsie celebrate her special day. Her birthday might have been lost in the festive rush for much of her life but we were determined to give her a birthday to remember this time around."
