Tenant Participation Agreement off to a Swinging Start!

The 19th January will see the launch of Sheffield Homes' new Tenant Participation Agreement developed following extensive consultation with tenants.

The agreement is between Sheffield City Council, council tenants and Sheffield Homes and sets out how tenants will be able to participate in the management of their homes and estate. An action plan accompanies this agreement and details how the Agreement will be implemented over the coming year.

The launch will form part of the City Wide Forum event taking place on the 19th January at Cutler’s Hall.

Peter Morton, Chief Executive of Sheffield Homes said "For tenants this agreement means better consultation, more opportunities to participate and a structured action plan. Tenants will be actively involved in monitoring the plan and reporting on standards".

Chris Weldon, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Regeneration at Sheffield City Council, commented; "We are committed to raising the standard of tenant participation on a local, area and city wide level. This agreement means tenants have more opportunities to help make their area a successful neighbourhood where people choose to live and work."

Musically minded staff from Sheffield Homes will be providing entertainment before and after the presentations. Jane Lyon, Tenant Participation Officer, will play out the evening with her swing band the Langsett Dance Orchestra and Governance Manager John Loveless will also perform with his 5 piece jazz band, Omega.
