Happy Valley
One very happy lady: Sheffield Homes’ tenant, Margaret Furniss said she felt like a millionaire when this lot descended on her to wish her well in her newly refurbished Decent Home.
Sheffield Homes and contractor partner, Keepmoat had spent four weeks upgrading her home under the Decent Homes programme and it was the first one to be completed in the Gleadless Valley area.
The sprightly 79 year old, who has lived in the area for more than 40 years and shares the house with her dog, Oscar said: “I’m so delighted with the work – the house is absolutely marvellous. I can’t tell you what I like best – I love everything they’ve done and they carried out the work with so little fuss and everyone was fantastic. And then they turned up with a bunch of flowers and it brought a tear to my eye. Now I can really look forward to celebrating my 80th here next January!”
