One World, One Day Community Event
A Sheffield Tenants and Residents Association has organised a summer community event for people of all ages living in Darnall and surrounding areas of the city.
One World Day, which has been organised by Stovin Utlley and Greenland Tenants and Residents Association (SUG TARA), aims to bring the local community together in a special fun packed event.
The event is being held on Saturday 1st September at Darnall Neighbourhood Park on Greenland Estate in Darnall. Visitors on the day will be treated to an action packed day out including music from a local steel band and DJ training, a range of children’s activities including free face painting, sports, dancers and special events and demonstrations.
SUG TARA has been supported by a number of local organisations including Sheffield Homes, Sheffield City Council, Darnall Forum, Fire Service, Wates Living Space, Activity Sheffield and South Yorkshire Police, all of who will be attending the event.
The event has also received funding from the National Lottery Awards for All.
Brigitt Cowan, Area Manager at Sheffield Homes said, “We are excited about being involved in this event, it’s a great opportunity people in the area to get together and enjoy the activities taking place. This event is a credit to the tenants and residents who have organised the day for the benefit of everyone in our community.”
