Langsett Fun Day is back!
Langsett Fun Day returns for its fourth year on Wednesday 20 August. The event will take place between 11am and 3pm at Walkley Primary School and promises to be a fun packed day for all.
The event provides a major annual focal point for the Langsett estate and its surrounding community, bringing local residents and a wide variety of organisations together to celebrate the area’s diversity. The day itself provides an opportunity during the summer holiday for young people to get involved in local sports and crafts. There will be information on hand about clubs and activities in the neighbourhood and school children will be encouraged to take part.
Activities on the day include a performing arts workshop, face painting, bouncy castles, clowns, circus skills and a penalty shoot out competition with prizes.
The event is organised by the Langsett and Walkley Community Association. As well as helping towards the funding of the event, Sheffield Homes Community Engagement Team, Estates Team and Wardens will be on site throughout the day.
Surjan Tiwana, North West Area Manager at Sheffield Homes said, “We are thrilled to be involved once again with the Langsett Fun Day. This event has always been successful in bringing the local community together and has proved especially popular with our young people providing them with an opportunity during the summer to get involved with local sports and other activities on offer.”
The event will be opened at noon by the Lord Mayor, Cllr Mrs Jane Bird, who will be presented with flowers by children from the Creswick Street Nursery.
