The future's bright; the future's orange
Kier Sheffield LLP have introduced orange vests for their Customer Liaison Advisors working with tenants on the Decent Homes programme in Woodhouse. They consulted with the Woodhouse Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) who recommended that they introduce brighter uniforms for the Customer Liaison Advisors to make them stand out, particularly for any tenants with poor eyesight.
This is a compromise from the orange suits initially suggested! Orange is normally the colour worn by railway workers but Kier Sheffield felt that the orange vests would help to differentiate the customer liaison staff from the rest of the site team. Kier Sheffield also agreed to have customer service emblazoned across the back to further emphasise who these people were. This is already working as many tenants easily recognise the main Customer Liaison Advisor, Brenda Bower, when she is on her visits around the village.
Kier Sheffield are also looking at other ways to increase awareness of security with tenants such as stickers for doors.
Lilian Randall, from the Woodhouse TARA, said: "Security for our tenants is of the utmost importance during the Decent Homes refurbishment. We are delighted that our suggestions and ideas have been welcomed and taken on board by Kier Sheffield and acted upon so quickly."
Dave Sheridan, Managing Director of Kier Sheffield LLP, said: "We understand the importance of security particularly for the more vulnerable tenants, and will continue to work closely with the TARAs and Sheffield Homes to improve our services wherever possible."
