Joint campaign clamps down on untaxed vehicles
Key agencies in Sheffield have worked together to remove over 150 untaxed vehicles from the city’s streets.
Sheffield Homes, Streetforce, South Yorkshire Police and the DVLA joined forces for Operation Cubit.
The two-week campaign saw illegal vehicles removed from estates across Sheffield which were either compounded or crushed. In the South East of the city alone, a total of 15 untaxed vehicles were removed in just 2 days.
As well as successfully removing untaxed vehicles, the campaign has made streets safer and improved the local environment for many people.
John Hosey, Assistant Director at Sheffield Homes, said: “This sort of work certainly gets the message across to people that we will take action when necessary. It is also an excellent example of partnership working to improve neighbourhoods and the quality of people’s lives.
“We are committed to keeping local estates clean and safe, as well as dealing with anti-social behaviour.”
If you wish to report an untaxed vehicle, please call the DVLA hotline on 08000 325202.
