A 'First Point' of Contact for Manor Top & Crystal Peaks
First Point, the Council’s hugely successful one-stop-shop, is expanding again.
Through partnership between Sheffield Libraries and Sheffield Homes, a new local First Point office will open within Manor Library on Tuesday 18th April. And a refurbished local First Point office opened at Crystal Peaks on 3rd April.
Sheffield Libraries will be running the usual services at Manor Library and this new service on behalf of the Council. A dedicated team from Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Homes, have been fully trained to deal with a wide range of enquiries.
Residents in the Manor Castle / Crystal Peaks areas of the city and visitors to the new First Point offices, will be able to access information about:
- All Sheffield Homes services, including repairs, maintenance & investment, estate & tenancy management, re-housing advice, tenancy enforcement and rent advice
- Council Tax, Housing and Council Tax benefits
- Discount leisure cards
- Information on schools and free school meals
- Housing services
- Parking badges for disabled people
- Sales of refuse sacks
- Council job vacancies
- Social Services equipment and adaptations
In addition, customers can use free-phones to directly access other Council services. All this, in fully accessible buildings with baby changing facilities, a loop system for those with hearing impairments; and free Internet access too.
Other local First Point offices around the city are available at: Hillsborough (The Mall, off Langsett Road) and Chapeltown (Chambers Court, off Cowley Lane) as well as the City Centre office at Howden House on Union street.
First Point is a ‘one stop shop’ for access to all council services.
