Everything in the Garden's Rosy after St Bart's Makeover!

Ground Force eat your heart out! St Bartholomew’s Church members can look forward to sunny summer days in the garden thanks to the hard work of Sheffield Homes’ Estate Officers and Hallam University student volunteers who took on the challenge of transforming St Bart’s church grounds in just 2 days!

The Hallam Challenge was the brainchild of Sheffield Hallam University students, who along with the Estate Officers spent Friday 7 and Saturday 8 March busily landscaping the grounds, removing graffiti off the walls of the church at Primrose Hill, and refurbishing the snooker room used by the local children in the church youth club.

St Bart’s Reverend, Martin Kilner says: “St Bartholomew's is delighted to be associated with Sheffield Homes and the Students of Hallam University. We are keen to play a full part in community life and over the years have been involved in many projects in and around the church contributing to the well-being of the local area. We are so pleased therefore that, thanks to the support and hard work of both Sheffield Homes and the Students, we now have a redecorated snooker room. Furthermore the area around the church has been cleared up superbly and a number of new shrubs have been planted. As these mature they will undoubtedly contribute to the area being a place of beauty and rest for everyone.'

Sheffield Homes North West Area Manager, Surjan Tiwana says: “We have a close connection with St Bart’s and we have run joint events in the past to help raise funds for the church and support the good work it achieves in the local community, especially with younger people.  Our estate officers and university student volunteers have put a tremendous amount of effort in transforming the church grounds as well as the snooker room and we hope it gives the church members and the local community a lot of pleasure for years to come.”
