Uplifting Times at Springwater House!
Residents at Springwater House Sheltered Housing Scheme are going up in the world now that they have a newly fitted lift in the building, and they’ll be raising their glasses at an official opening ceremony on Wednesday 14 May.
The residents at the Sheltered Scheme at Cotleigh Crescent, Hackenthorpe, had reported a fault with the previous lift and when engineers called round it was decided that the lift should be replaced.
Thanks to the team from Kier the lift was installed without a hitch. Celebrating with residents will be the engineers who fitted the lift, a member from Hackenthorpe Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, staff from Sheffield Homes’ Maintenance Partnership Unit and also Sheffield Homes Sheltered Housing staff along with local councillors.
Sheffield Homes Assistant Director of Housing Management Jasper South said: “Our tenants’ quality of life at all our Sheltered Housing Schemes is paramount to us. The newly fitted lift has been well received by the residents at Springwater House. They are absolutely thrilled with it and wanted to thank everyone involved for their hard work by holding an official opening ceremony.”
Springwater resident Alice Shaw, who will be cutting the opening ceremonial ribbon, said “We are over the moon that we have a new lift. When the old one had problems we wondered how we would manage but the engineers have done a grand job fitting this new one and we wanted to show our appreciation to everyone involved in getting it installed.”
