Services pull together to clean up area

The Darnall area of Sheffield will be getting a special makeover this week thanks to local organisations.

 

A special team, made up of staff from Sheffield Homes’ Estates Services Team and other key organisations including Street Force, Parks & Countryside and a range of housing associations from the area, will be leading the way.

 

The united teams will be hosting a major clean up, including the removal of fly tipping and the maintenance of communal green areas.  The project will cover neighbourhoods in and around the Shirland estate, Kashmir Gardens and between Wilstrop Road and Flaxby Road in Darnall.

 

Glyn Hitchen, Assistant Area Manager at Sheffield Homes, said, “This is the perfect opportunity for local organisations to work together for the benefit everyone living and working in the area.  Joint working on projects such as this, not only improve the environment but also ensure that Sheffield Homes continues to provide the best estate services possible for our customers.”

 

The team will be setting off from Shirland Lane at 8:30am on Wednesday 23 May, so make sure you look out for them and report any fly tipping in the area.
