Could you be an Area Board Member?
Sheffield Homes is offering residents in the East of Sheffield the opportunity to have a major role in shaping Council housing services in their local community.
The organisation, which manages Sheffield’s 45,000 council homes, is looking to recruit new members to its East Area Board, which covers areas including Burngreave, Darnall and Firshill
Sheffield Homes is specifically looking for 6 new Area Board Members, 4 Council tenants and 2 independent people. This opportunity is open to all residents from East Sheffield, not just Sheffield Homes’ customers.
Sheffield Homes has six Area Boards in total, one for each Housing Area in Sheffield.
Sheffield Homes is asking for applications from committed and enthusiastic people who are interested in the local community and want to make a difference to people’s lives.
Area Boards meet every two months. Full training will be given to help board members to manage the role and responsibilities that come with it. This is a voluntary role, however travel and carers’ expenses are paid.
