Last Warning For Nuisance Family
Sheffield City Council has been granted a suspended possession order against a tenant, Peter Gregory of Mansell Crescent, Sheffield. The case was prepared by Sheffield Homes (the organisation that now manages Council properties).
Mr Gregory, 46, has lived in the property for a year with his partner and three children. The family have caused constant nuisance to neighbours by playing excessively loud music and being verbally abusive to them on a regular basis. Neighbours have complained of a "dreadful year" at the hands of Mr Gregory, his family and visitors to the property.
The order has been suspended for 18 months on the condition that Mr Gregory, his family and visitors comply with condition 19 of the tenancy agreement, which includes not causing nuisance or harassment or annoyance to neighbours. He must also not use offensive or abusive language towards neighbours.
Should Mr Gregory or members of his household or guests breach the terms of the order Sheffield City Council will take action to enforce the Possession Order and evict the family.
Councillor Jackie Drayton, Cabinet Advisor for Community Safety, said: "We will not tolerate such behaviour towards staff and neighbours. We are determined to protect people who suffer because of the actions of others, and are pleased that the court has supported us today."
