Swapping Hard Hats for Party Hats
Housing refurbishment specialist Lovell got its regional manager Steve Hale to swap his hard hat for a Santa hat this week, when the company threw a Christmas party for the children living in houses that they have been refurbishing on the Arbourthorne estate.
Steve donned the famous red suit to dish out early Christmas presents to dozens of youngsters as part of `thank you' celebrations to local tenants for their patience and understanding during work on the Sheffield Homes' Decent Homes programme.
Lovell has been working on around 800 homes in the area as part of the multi-million pound, city-wide project, which aims to bring all council housing in Sheffield up to the Government's Decent Homes standard over the next five years.
"Everyone in Arbourthorne has been incredibly understanding and helpful while we've been carrying out this work and we've had some extremely positive feedback from them as they've seen the end result and the vast improvement it has made to their homes," said Lovell regional manager Steve Hale. "This was our way of saying thank you to the community for their support."
The party was held in The Beacon Church Hall on Arbourthorne Road on recently and Lovell laid on a festive mix of party food, balloons, fun and games, music, prizes and, of course, plenty of surprise presents from Santa himself.
