Double Celebration for Staff at Sheffield Homes
Sheffield Homes has double cause for celebration this week after winning a second award in a month to recognise the Company’s commitment to its staff.
The latest accolade paid to Sheffield Homes came at an awards ceremony organised by Creating More Balance (CMB) South Yorkshire, which is a European Social Funded project that promotes flexible working options to employers.
Sheffield Homes was presented with the ‘'Winner of the CMB Maternity Award' in recognition of the Company’s excellent policies and procedures to support staff throughout pregnancy, following the birth and returning to work. Staff from Sheffield Homes Human Resources team were there to collect the award after beating off competition from a number of public and private sector companies from across South Yorkshire.
The CMB award is the second award the Company has won in a month. Sheffield Homes, which employees almost 1,200 people, was also awarded a prestigious ‘Leading the Way’ award from Remploy for its employment and development of disabled staff. Sheffield Homes won the northern regional award in the ‘large employer’ section.
Mike Carline, Human Resource Manager at Sheffield Homes said, “We were delighted when we won the Remploy Award, but to have our approach to staff development recognised twice in the space of a month is amazing. We do not intend to rest on our laurels, we are constantly developing our policies and procedures for the benefit of all our staff.”
