What's the Mystery behind Sheffield's next BME Tenants Forum
Sheffield residents and part-time super sleuths Rene Seren’dat, Mick and Linda Daniels will be leading a special mystery-shopping stall at Sheffield Homes’ next Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Tenants Forum.
The BME Tenants Forum, which is being held on Monday 26th November, will focus on the different opportunities for local people to shape housing services in Sheffield, such as getting involved in mystery shopping. Visitors will also get the chance to meet other local people who regularly get involved in customer groups including Tenants and Resident Associations, estate walkabouts and Decent Homes project groups.
Residents will also be able to discuss customer satisfaction and how customer feedback has already changed the face of housing.
BME Tenants Forums are jointly organised by staff from Sheffield Homes and a group of volunteers that make up the BME Planning Group. The group aims to provide Black and Minority Ethnic tenants in Sheffield regular opportunities to come together to discuss issues surrounding housing and their neighbourhoods.
Janet Parry, Director of Housing Management at Sheffield Homes said, “Local volunteers make a real difference in helping to improve Sheffield’s neighbourhoods and develop the housing services we provide. We are always looking for people from diverse backgrounds to get involved and have their say so that we can build on previous successes.”
Tenants can also use the forum to ask senior staff from Sheffield Homes about a range of housing issues.
The next BME Forum will be taking place on Monday 26th November at Sheffield Wednesday Football Ground, between 5-9p.m. An interpreter service will be provided on request and travel and carer expenses. Refreshments and food will also be provided.
