Forty jobs up for grabs at Sheffield Homes

A job fair to be held next week, Thursday 12 October, by Sheffield Homes will offer up to forty people the opportunity to join its team. The company, which manages 48,000 homes on behalf of Sheffield City Council, is looking for exceptional people to fill a range of vacancies.

Fancy finding out what a housing officer does all day, or how you can help solve a tenant’s problem as a customer service assistant, then here’s your chance. The fair which is being held from 10am to 3.30pm at St Peter’s Community Hall, Nether Edge will offer members of the public the opportunity to chat about what jobs are really like to the people who actually do them.

There’s a wide range of posts on offer from ICT co-ordinator, clerk/word processor operator, through to housing officers and tenancy support staff. Sheffield Homes staff will be on hand to help people fill out application forms and Urdu and Punjabi interpreters will be also available.

Mike Carline, HR Manager, of Sheffield Homes says:” We’re looking for exceptional people, who’ll be given the chance to make a real difference to the lives of people in Sheffield. In return we can offer the chance to join a great employer.  We provide a wide range of benefits including final salary pension scheme, generous leave entitlement and if appropriate relocation expenses.”

Sheffield Homes is hoping that the fair will be even more successful than last years, when over 100 people joined them at the event.

The job fair will be held at St Peter’s Community Hall, Woodstock Road, Nether Edge (off Abbeydale Road near the old Abbeydale Cinema). Buses 75, 76 and 97 from High Street.
