Sheltered residents throw a party for workmen

Residents at a Heeley sheltered housing scheme were so pleased with the recent renovation of their homes, they threw a party for the workmen!

Kier Sheffield LLP completed a range of work at Cambridge Court as part of the Decent Homes scheme. This £669 million programme managed by Sheffield Homes will see thousands of council properties citywide modernised by 2010.

At Cambridge Court, Kier workmen fitted 37 new kitchens, 37 new bathrooms – including low level access showers – replaced all windows with PVCu ones and completed electrical rewires.

The residents were so delighted with the work, they organised a party for those who worked on the scheme and their families to say thank you. Plenty of Kier staff, tenants and Sheffield Homes staff turned up to join in the fun.
