Celebrity Blow in from the North for Sheffield Homes' Annual Residents Conference

Tenants and residents in Sheffield will be attending a special event hosted by Sheffield Homes as a thank you for helping to improve Sheffield’s neighbourhoods.

Sheffield Homes, the company that manages over 43,000 council homes in Sheffield, is running a special ‘Cleaner, Greener’ themed Residents Conference that aims to bring together members of tenants and residents associations (TARAs) across the city for the annual celebration.

This years event will be opened by a surprise ‘cleaner, greener’ celebrity who will be moving in from the North on a band of low pressure to bring sunshine to the people at the event!

The conference will be taking place on Wednesday 26th September at Norfolk Heritage Centre in the Park, 10am till 4pm.

As well as informal presentations and displays the event gives visitors the opportunity to watch a range of demonstrations including falconry, wood carving, Police dog handler and dog displays and a graffiti removal demonstration.  There will also be interactive activities including circus skills, juggling and carbon footprint readings from Western Park museum.

Janet Parry, Director of Housing Management at Sheffield Homes said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to bring together people from across the city who volunteer their valuable time for the benefit of other people living in their neighbourhood.  We will also be using this event to launch the Paul Key Community Awards for people in our community that go one step further to help others.”

Local cleaner, greener organisations will be exhibiting at the event including Community Forestry, South Yorkshire Badger Association, Heeley City Farm, Weston Park Museum, Street Force, Veolia and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport.
