Special Decent Homes Event for Sheffield Homes Customers
Sheffield Homes customers in the Firshill, Pitsmoor, Burngreave and Darnall areas of the city are being offered the opportunity to drop in and meet the people who will be carrying out home improvement work in their areas over the next few years. The event will take place from 3 pm to 7pm on 7th November at the newly opened Vestry Hall in Burngreave.
The home improvement work forms part of the massive Decent Homes programme being managed by Sheffield Homes, which is delivering £669 million of Government-funded improvements to over 40,000 council homes in the city.
A ‘Decent Home’ is one that is windproof, weather tight, warm and has modern facilities. Home improvement work may include things such as fitting new bathrooms, kitchens, central heating, doors, windows and electrical re-wiring. In the east of Sheffield over 1,500 homes have already been improved and plans are in place to improve 2,500 more. The work will be carried out by Sheffield Homes partners Wates Living Space.
Simon Senior, Project Manager, Decent Homes comments “ We hope to bring all customer homes in the local area up to the Decent Homes standard, which will make a tremendous difference to many people’s lives. The event provides a great opportunity for customers to come along and see how their home can be transformed and talk to us about any concerns or questions they may have about the Decent Homes work.”
Customers who want to find out more should contact Nicola Warburton on 0114 293 0000.
