All the Fun of the Fair comes to Emerson Crescent

A fire engine, face painting and a tug-of-war contest were some of the attractions at a Parson Cross fun day.

The event – entitled Bridging the Gap – took place on the triangular green at Emerson Crescent on Sunday 14th September.

Organised by Lindsay Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) with support from Sheffield Homes, Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police, the event brought the community together with activities for all ages.

There was face painting, a bouncy castle, egg and spoon races, a tug-of-war contest, armchair aerobics, a fire engine, a table top car boot sale, refreshments, music, and stalls staffed by various organisations.

“We wanted to bring the community together for the day,” said Shirley Hayes, Chair of Lindsay TARA. “We tried to provide something fun for people young and old, as well as setting up the stalls to provide information and advice on a range of issues.”
