New Recycling Bins are a Glass Act

Sheffield Homes tenants at Busk Meadows and Dryden Way don’t have to go far to do their bit for the environment – they now have a glass recycling bank on their doorstep.

The new recycling bins will serve blocks of flats on Dryden Way and Busk Meadows in the North of Sheffield.

A joint project between Sheffield Homes and Veolia – Sheffield City Council’s waste management department, the bins will improve estate cleanliness, help the local environment and encourage tenants and residents to recycle.

“This scheme has already shown some very good results,” said Dean Fearon, Housing Coordinator with Sheffield Homes.

“We are looking to expand the service to include recycling banks for clothes, shoes, paper and cardboard.

“We will also be talking to other local Tenants and Residents Associations about the benefits of the recycling facilities and hopefully identifying further places to site them.”
