Charter Mark Success
Sheffield Homes has been awarded a prestigious national quality standard for excellence in customer service.
Charter Mark, which is sponsored by the Cabinet Office, recognises public sector organisations like Sheffield Homes, that show a commitment to developing services. Not only has Sheffield Homes achieved this standard but the company has been put forward as an example of best practice to be included on the Cabinet Offices’ Charter Mark good practice database.
To gain the Standard, Sheffield Homes demonstrated that services meet the diverse needs of people across Sheffield. The company, which manages 48,000 homes on behalf of Sheffield City Council, also showed that customers and staff are regularly consulted, and that the community has a real say in the design and delivery of services.
The areas identified as best practice were around the quality of the company’s service standards, in particular its Customer Service Standard, the overall quality of the information produced for customers and the strength of partnerships.
Peter Morton, Sheffield Homes’ Chief Executive said, “Achieving Charter Mark highlights our customer focussed approach and dedication to continuously developing services for the benefit of our customers, partners, staff and the wider community. This Standard is testament to the fact that we constantly aim to raise the bar for housing services across Sheffield.”
During a formal visit to Sheffield Homes, the Charter Mark assessor spent time talking to Sheffield Homes customers and staff, and visited a number of area housing offices and examples of Decent Homes projects and sheltered schemes.
