Sheffield Homes has made a commitment to tenants to provide and maintain high quality goods and services.
We endeavour to clean, service or restore items to a high quality to ensure we can re-use equipment whenever possible.
Items that cannot be re-used are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. For example –
- We have a cardboard and polythene recycling policy
- All Printer, Fax and Photocopier cartridges are collected and donated to a company that disposes of them in an environmentally friendly way.
- Suites are sent to be re-upholstered wherever possible
- Many of our used beds will go to a company that strip them down, repair any broken springs, refill and cover with fresh material making them as good as new.
- Whenever possible we refurbish, electrically test, and steam clean cookers and fridges ready for re-use.
- Our contractors who supply us with wood products use forest friendly management techniques. They ensure anything used is replaced for future generations to cultivate.
