What is the HOMES Mobility Scheme?

The HOMES Mobility scheme will shortly be replaced by a new service called MOVE UK. The launch date for this service is not yet known.

In the meantime if you would like an application form, leaflet or more information about the HOMES Mobility Scheme you can contact the Multi Agency Lettings Team. The telephone number is 0114 2734722.

The HOMES Mobility Scheme operates throughout the UK. It enables landlords to help their tenants move to another part of the country.

You can use the scheme to apply to other local authorities or housing associations for a move out of Sheffield.

The scheme works by "nomination" from one local authority, landlord or housing association to another.

You can apply to move through the scheme if you need to move to another part of the country because of employment, or to give/receive support to/from relatives or friends.

You must have a local connection with the area where you want to live and be able to provide evidence of this. For example, confirmation of employment or letters of support from family or friends already living in that area.

If you want to move into Sheffield from another part of the country, there is no need to apply through the HOMES Mobility Scheme. You can contact Sheffield Homes on 0114 2734262 for further information on how to join the Housing Register in Sheffield.
