Getting Involved

Sheffield Homes' Commitment to Tenant Involvement

Discovering the different ways to get involved.
Sheffield Homes is committed to giving customers a real say in your housing service. Involvement means that tenants and residents can be involved in shaping the decisions that affect them, their homes and their community.

Tenants are the majority group on our Board of Directors and on Local Boards.  We are working with a Steering Group of tenants and residents to shape a new City Wide Agreement so that all tenants have the opportunity to get involved in a way that suits them.

Why Get Involved?

Sheffield Homes wants to know what you think about the services we provide.

  • We want to do things better and you are the best people to tell us how we can improve our services.
  • We believe that the more involved you are, the more satisfied you will be with the services you receive from us.
  • The government is also challenging us to become more accountable to our customers. It’s part of the drive to increase local democracy, modernise local government and to improve local services.

Resident involvement is a vital part of this process. It gives you more of a say – as an individual or through a tenants and residents association. It means you can take part in local decisions about how your estate is run, and gives you the chance to have input into wider policy changes that affect all tenants and residents.
