Comment on the New Tenant Participation Agreement
The Tenant Participation Agreement is the third such agreement for Sheffield and the first three-way agreement between the tenants and residential leaseholders of Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Homes who manage the properties, and Sheffield City Council.
The agreement sets out how tenants and residents can get involved in housing services and how the Council and Sheffield Homes will communicate with tenants.
It is now over a year since we all started working on the new agreement. Over the summer many of you took the opportunity to comment on the draft Tenant Participation Agreement. TARAs, individual tenants, local boards and local housing forums all commented and many comments were very positive.
On the 11th January 2006 Sheffield City Council cabinet received the Tenant Participation Agreement for approval. The Agreement was approved. On the 19th January 2006 Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Homes held a joint City Wide Forum (CWF) the agreement was signed by a group of tenants representatives, Councillor Chris Weldon and the Chief Executive of Sheffield Homes Peter Morton.
