Tenant Participation Improvement Group (TPIG)

This group is responsible for planning its own agendas and identifying the need to set up working groups which will investigate and evaluate specific parts of the housing services at a citywide level. The group will agree the Terms of Reference for each group and nominate tenant representatives.

Its role is to:

  • Identify gaps in Tenant Participation and work with staff to develop appropriate opportunities for tenant to influence services
  • Co-ordinate and improve the standard of tenant participation in Sheffield
  • Identify and plan topics for discussion on all housing management issues and establish working groups to explore issues further
  • Receive feedback from working groups
  • Contribute to and agree the Annual Tenant Participation Report
 

Members Contributions, Voting and Nominations

Contributions are welcome from committee members but only two representatives from each Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) can vote at the meeting.
 
Voting by Proxy will not be allowed.
 
For a TARA to cast its two votes, at least two of its committee members MUST be present.
 
Six tenant representatives from TPIG will be nominated to attend the Tenant Participation Agreement Panel. The role of this panel is to monitor the Agreement, Recognition Policy and the Action Plan.

TPIG is open to all of the following groups:
 
  • TARA and Committee representatives
  • BME Planning Group Members (Black and Minority Ethnic)
  • Disability Scrutiny Group Members
  • Sheltered Advisory Group Members
  • Leasehold Forum Membership Chairperson

Meetings

TPIG meetings are held bi-monthly on even months. Dates, times and venues of forthcoming meetings are shown on the Tenant Participation Events Calendar
