Where To Find Out More
Sheffield Homes Advice
There are a number of people within Sheffield Homes who can provide you with support and advice on tenant participation. These include:
Community Engagement Team:
This team is part of Sheffield Homes and is based in the centre of Sheffield. It’s their job to oversee and monitor tenant participation across the city, to ensure tenants are involved in all aspects of tenant participation by reviewing current policies and making recommendations for new ones.
The Community Engagement Team can be contacted on 0114 273 5566 or e-mail getinvolved@sheffieldhomes.org.uk
Area Housing Teams:
Your local housing office has at least one member of staff with responsibility for tenant participation. This person is known as the Tenant Liaison officer. Their job is to involve tenants in their local housing service, and work with Tenants Associations to improve the area.
Our leaflet 'A Guide To Tenant Participation' is available in all Area Housing offices, or you can download it from the website.
Independent Advice:
There are a number of other organisations separate from Sheffield Homes that can also give you help and advice. These include national organisations who give tenants help and advice on participation.
Sheffield Homes is a member of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service and every tenant has access to their helpline. Freefone 0500 844 111.
Details of other organisations can be found on the Government’s web site at the Office of the Deputy Prime minister (ODPM) www.odpm.gov.uk
