Information in community languages

Sheffield Homes is committed to ensuring that everyone has equal access to our services.

With this in mind, we are able to provide a range of interpretation and translation services for people whose first language is not English.

This helps us to communicate with Sheffield's diverse communities and ensure that people don't miss out on the help, support and services they need.

  • Telephone Interpretation - All our staff and our decent homes partners are able to access a telephone translation service in over 150 languages. They simply dial a number and get a qualified interpreter on the line.

  • Face to face Interpretation – For longer interviews it is usually best to have an interpreter present.  When it is appropriate we will arrange for a face-to-face interpreter to be present (subject to availability).

  • Other Languages - We occasionally get requests from our customers to translate documents into languages other than the 14 Community Languages. We have made these available here.

  • Other Formats – we are looking at other ways of providing information in other languages, for example spoken translations on tape or CD.  If you have a preference please let us know and we will try to help.

Please use the attached documents below to view this page in the fourteen most commonly used languages.

We would be very interested to hear about the experience people who do not speak English have had in contacting Sheffield Homes.

  • What do you think of the services we provide, such as tranlsations or telephone interpreters?

  • What services would you like to see in the future?
