How does the YES Team support the community?
The key to our success
Key to our success is our close relationship with local communities and we work hard to positively engage with tenants and residents, TARAs and other resident groups.
We are a familiar face in the local community, getting to know people - for example, when our Wardens offer a reassuring presence on Post Office pension collection days. We also organise or contribute to many local events such as RSL open days and community fun days. Our Wardens regularly visit schools, organising planting schemes with pupils, taking them on litter picks or giving talks.

We’ve also taken a key role in highly successful events, such as ‘Weeks of Action’ in conjunction with all four of our partners; Acis Group, Pennine Housing 2000, Parkway Housing Association and South Yorkshire Housing Association. During these weeks, local stakeholders carry out high profile area ‘blitzes’, coming together on a wide range of activities to tackle crime, nuisance and antisocial behaviour, as well as improving the environment of estates.
Our staff deal with issues including untidy gardens, truancy, car tax and illegal parking, litter picking and antisocial behaviour. We also install smoke alarms for tenants free of charge.
