Weekly premiums are paid with your rent, making it easier to insure your belongings at a low cost. The plan is arranged through Aviva, an established insurance company and offers continuous ‘new for old’ cover against fire, theft and water damage.

• 20 levels of cover from £6,000 to £25,000
• Fire, Theft, Flood, and Accidental damage
• Freezer contents, shed and garage contents at no extra cost
• Cash cover to £250 and cards to £200 each
• ‘New’ for ‘old’

£6,000 is the lowest sum that can be insured if you are over 60 and £9,000 is the lowest insurable sum for all other customers.

Anyone who is not in rent arrears can apply to join the scheme.
