How do I apply for a Mutual Exchange?
Print out and return our Mutual Exchange Application Form at the bottom of this page. Each household must complete an application form. If it is a joint tenancy both tenants need to sign the form. You cannot move home until all parties have signed the agreement form.
Please return all the forms together to your Area Housing Office, Local First Point, the First Point at Howden House or to the Multi Agency Lettings Team at:

It will usually take us from four to six weeks to process applications and carry out necessary checks. If you want to exchange with a non-Sheffield City Council tenant, it may take a little longer. Once our checks are complete, we will arrange a meeting to assign your properties to each other.
