Your Right to Repair Leaflet

Sheffield council tenants can get repair work done themselves if Sheffield Homes do not do it on time.

Information on how tenants can get overdue repairs done themselves and send the bill to the Council is in the leaflet "Your right to repair".  We are making some changes to this leaflet, and so it is not available at present.  Once it has been changed it will be available from all Area Housing Offices and to download from this page.

The leaflet includes information about:

  • Situations in which tenants can use the right to repair scheme
  • How tenants claim the right to repair
  • A list of repairs contractors that tenants can use
  • Repairs that tenants can carry out themselves under the right to repair
  • Obtaining estimates
  • Checking repair work once it is completed
