Sheffield Gnomes Gardening Competition
Thank you to everyone that has entered Sheffield Homes' summer gardening competition Sheffield Gnomes.
We have done the final judging and the winners and runners up have been announced (see below), who will win either one of five winners prizes of £100 gift vouchers and a special award trophy, or one of 10 runners up prizes of £25.
The categories awards and winners are:
Summer Garden of the Year
- Winner - Stuart Booth of Crabtree Road
- Runner up - Pearl Ann Shutt of Handsworth Grange Road
- Runner up - B Hartley of Daresbury Road
Hanging Basket / Container of the Year
- Winner - Nigel Davenport of Summer Street
- Runner up - Jean Moulson of Occupation Lane
- Runner up - Mrs A Warburton of Derby Terrace
Sheltered Housing Communal Garden of the Year
- Winner - Sweeney House nominated by Dave Goodison
- Runner up - Broomfield House nominated by Ronald Stapleton
- Runner up - Westnall House nominated by Peter Jones
Community Garden Project of the Year
- Winner - Burncross Road nominated by Edith Killoran
- Runner up - Wharcliffe Side green nominated by D Heath
- Runner up - Guant Road nominated by Margaret Greaves
Young Gardener of the Year
- Winner - Sean Simmons of Swanbourne Road
- Runner up - Lewis Cowley of Oaks Avenue (who has a small garden in Sweeney House Sheltered Scheme where his grandad lives)
