Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Housing Strategy
Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Homes have jointly produced a strategy that looks at the housing needs of black and minority ethnic (BME) people in the city.
It includes actions and targets to improve access to housing services for BME people across Sheffield.
We review the strategy and produce a new action plan every year. The next major review of the strategy will take place at the end of 2005.
You will find a copy of the Black and Minority Ethnic Housing Strategy 2002-2005 at the bottom of this page, along with the BME Housing Strategy Review 2003, which is a review of the action plan.
BME Tenants Forum
We want all our tenants to be involved in a way which suits them. Whilst Sheffield has strong, active Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations, black and minority ethnic tenants are seriously underrepresented and so the BME Tenants Forum was established to try to redress the balance.
