First Point at Howden House

First Point is a purpose built ‘One Stop Shop’ situated at Howden House, Union Street close to the City Centre. Helpful staff provide access and information about all Council services.
First Point is open Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.30pm.
You will receive a high quality service in bright comfortable surroundings with many facilities designed for your comfort. They include:

Access to basic 'quick' information and advice is via the reception desk and floorwalkers (who greet customers as they arrive). Typical queries can be resolved in less than two minutes. Some payments can be made through reception or at the dedicated cash counter.
Help Yourself Area
A self-help area that allows you to search for information via freephones, leaflets and information posters. You can also pick up application forms and use the electronic Public Access Points to hook up to the Internet and send free e-mails.
Face-to-Face
You can speak to a Customer Service Advisor who will give you on the spot information about a wide range of services as well as getting more detailed advice from specialists if needed.
