Stock Reduction for Central Area
Park Hill
For several years the Park Hill estate has experienced increasing decline both in terms of building condition and desirability of properties. In 2004 Urban Splash and Manchester Methodist Housing were selected as lead developer and Registered Social Landlord. Once redeveloped the Park Hill estate will include 600 homes for market sale, 200 for rent and 40 for shared equity sale. Urban Splash aim to begin their work on the site in winter 2007, prior to this Sheffield City Council have committed to carrying out the enabling work. This includes the rehousing of existing tenants on a phased basis and consequently securing and decommissioning vacant properties and the demolition of sundry buildings.

Your Involvement:
The Stock Reduction Team has been involved in organising several joint consultation events with Manchester Methodist Housing Group (Registered Social Landlord for Park Hill) and Urban Splash (Appointed developer for the Park Hill Re-Development), and has held monthly tenant project groups to maintain tenant involvement.
Excellent relationships have also been established with our partners in Strategic Initiatives, Capital Resources Management Team and several demolition contractors.
Safety On Our Estates:
Advance Security has been selected as our preferred contractor. Advance now provides a ‘made-to-measure’ security service on the estates affected by clearance. They are a visible presence and a deterrent for Vandals etc.
