Area and Properties
Darnall is about 5 miles east of Sheffield city centre. The area is a mixture of council, housing association and owner occupied properties.
The area is bordered to the west by Don Valley, to the south by the Sheffield Parkway, and to the east and north by Tinsley Golf course and Sheffield Airport.
The area has a very strong sense of community even though the council properties are interspersed within areas of other tenures.
Amenities
There is a good variety of shops and services in the Darnall area. These include:
- 3 Banks
- Post Office
- 2 Chemists
- 3 D.I.Y./Hardware stores
- Several fruit and vegetable shops
- Butchers and Bakers shops, electrical store, continental food stores, travel agents, estate agents and large supermarket.
These are mostly located in the middle of Darnall and easily accessible. There are also garages and engineering premises in the area.
Darnall Library is at Main Road in the centre of the shopping area.
There are golfing facilities in High Hazels Park, Darnall.
The neighbourhood lies directly adjacent to Don Valley Sports Stadium, Don Valley Bowl, The Sheffield Arena and Valley Centertainment which provide excellent sporting and recreation facilities.

Transport
Buses run about every 20 minutes during the day, route number 52.
The M1 motorway is about 5 minutes drive from Tinsley.

Schools
Acres Hill Primary and Junior School on Mather Road, Greenlands Infant and Junior School on Staniforth Road and Phillimore Park Primary School on Phillimore Road. The area is also served by Waltheof Comprehensive School on Prince of Wales Road.

Health Facilities
