Annual General Meeting - 14th May 2008

At Longley Hall Farm TARA's AGM it was all change. 

 

The previous committee, having contributing years of service to their community, felt it was time for a rest and decided to stand down. 

 

The former Chair Mandy Gascoigne will continue as a committee member but Deborah Byrne, former Chair of Lindsay TARA, was voted in as the new Chair.

 

The meeting room was packed with TARA members who listened to Councillor Joan Barton and North Area Manager Paul Voyse give updates on what's happening in the area.

Older Persons Tenancy Support Service (OPTSS) could help you with these and a variety of other issues.

 

This government-funded service is free and open to everyone over the age of 55 in the north and west of Sheffield – regardless of how much money you have or what kind of accommodation you live in.  Their team of dedicated workers can provide a support package to you that will help you to overcome your problems and be as independent as possible.  It’s a short-term service and it’s based on your needs and what YOU want, and they offer you support to reach your own goals at a pace that’s suitable for you.

 

Many people find that as they get older they start to struggle more with practical tasks, and many people find it hard to accept this change.  OPTSS understand that life inevitably changes as you age but know that it doesn’t have to change for the worse.  OPTSS will be sensitive to your needs and feelings and can help you to access services that you may not be aware of in your local community.
