What does the Scheme Warden do?
- Is usually on site between Monday and Friday during office hours.
- Will complete a support plan with all new tenants within three weeks of them moving in. This will be reviewed every six months or when there is a change in circumstances.
- Will have daily contact with each resident either by visiting them or via intercom alarm.
- Will provide general counseling and support accessing any services relevant to the residents needs.
- Will refer the resident to Social Services for an assessment for Equipment & Adaptations (new window) if required.
- Will contact relatives, call a doctor or an ambulance in an emergency.
- Will be responsible for helping to develop the community within the scheme and will facilitate scheme activities.
The Scheme Warden does not:
- Collect pensions, prescriptions or do shopping. If friends or relatives were helping with these things before you moved into sheltered housing, they should continue to do so.
- Give out medication to tenants.
